Pickford will stay at Everton until 2029 after signing a new contract

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has signed a new four-year contract with the club.

Pickford joined Everton from boyhood club Sunderland in 2017 and has since made 326 appearances for the Toffees.

The England first-choice goalkeeper is currently under contract until 2029, his new deal adding two more years to his stay at the club.

“I’m happy,” he told evertontv. “I’m delighted to do it – it’s an extra two years, so four years in total. I’m over the moon and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, to move forward and build this club to where we want to be.

“Everton is a special club for me. Coming from Sunderland as a young man and growing into a man here, it was a special time for me and my family.

“I think everyone has seen the changes and how I’ve developed over time, but I’m still that guy who likes to keep the ball out of the net. It was Everton that helped me develop and a lot of hard work went in as well.

“It’s always felt like a natural fit for me, with the fans and the passion – it’s second to none and something I thrive on. It’s been a huge journey so far.”

Pickford is looking for Everton silverware

Everton did a A strong start to life at Hill-Dickinson Stadium After saying goodbye to Goodison Park.

They are still undefeated in their new home, and Pickford believes exciting times are ahead.

“I think the dark days are behind us and it’s about building that momentum as a team and as a club now,” Pickford said. “I think that’s the whole deal, really.

“The new owners came in and showed that they want to move us forward, the manager since he came in has also shown that, and we as players on the field.

“The manager wanted us to continue our form (from the end of last season) into this season and he will continue to push us.

“We’ve started well and we want to continue building this momentum and return Everton Football Club to a team that competes in Europe. We know it’s hard to do but it’s a journey we want to continue and it’s hard work we’ll do as a club.

“We want to get that direction, and hopefully one day we’ll pick up some silverware as well.”
