Harry Kane’s youth record at Tottenham

Unlike many footballers these days, Kane’s journey to stardom was not straightforward, with many bumps and transitions appearing throughout his journey to professional success.

He once played for bitter rivals Arsenal as a youth player but was released by the Gunners for being “too chubby” – but he was given a golden opportunity to further his career by Spurs at 15.

His rise has been swift for the Lilywhites, earning a scholarship just a year after his arrival – a feat often unheard of given the sheer competition for a career in professional football.

However, his success was even more remarkable given that he switched to central striker from his original role in midfield, but such a decision would prove to be an instant success.

Tangible success was seen as a result in his first year at U18 level, with Kane achieving a phenomenal return of 18 goals from just 22 assists, which in turn led to his first first team appearance in 2009/10.

Since then there has been no looking back for the England team, but who will be the next player to make a name for himself from the Lilywhites’ impressive academy set-up?

Richarlison has shown early glimpses of promise over the last few months, scoring three times The Premier LeagueBut he struggled to live up to the expectations demanded of him Thomas Frank in recent weeks.

The Brazilian is now without a goal in his last four games, with his counterpart Dominic Solanke also unable to get the desired effect due to his constant struggles with his ankle.

The aforementioned duo have cost the club over £115m combined, but have ultimately failed to deliver the goods on a regular basis – with Paratici needing to rectify such business.

He could easily save the club millions in the coming years if he puts faith and trust in academy star Ashia Houghton-Sinclair, with the youngster a player with a huge future in north London.

At just 14, it might look like he’ll have to wait a while for his first-team opportunity, but there’s no reason why he can’t force himself to be reckoned with, given his impressive record.

It is claimed that the youngster has already scored over 400 goals at various levels in the academy, with his name now one of the biggest talking points behind the scenes in North London.

He has featured above his age group in recent seasons, with Haughton-Sinclair appearing frequently for the U15s and U16s during the first few months of 2025/26.

Last season alone, he netted 65 goals, but he has continued his impressive goalscoring streak this time around, already finding the back of the net on 30 separate occasions.

He also laid down ten assists for his teenage teammates, taking his tally to a combined 40 goal contributions – a feat that’s simply amazing considering it’s only October.

As a result of his tremendous form, Haughton-Sinclair was recently named in the England U15 squad, in what has been a sensational few months for the youngster.

It cannot be denied that he still has a long way to go before making his mark in the professional game, but he has already been awarded a scholarship two years ahead of schedule, which underlines the faith the club has shown in him.

If he continues on his current development path, there’s no reason why he can’t be the next big star to come out of the Lilywhites Academy and possibly reach the levels Kane achieved.
