Two BC airports saw major intrusions into their information systems Tuesday night.
For a short time, screens at Kelowna International Airport’s terminals displayed what appeared to be pro-Hamas messages criticizing Israel and US President Donald Trump.
The public address system was also compromised.
In a statement, the Kelowna Airport said that “a third party accessed the flight information display screens and public address (PA) system in the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) terminal building.

“The YLW team has successfully removed the unauthorized messages. They have also restored our flight information display screens and are continuing to work to restore the public address system.”
The problem caused some flight delays, the airport confirmed.
A similar situation also occurred at Victoria International Airport. Staff there said an unauthorized audio message was broadcast on their public address system due to a “cloud-based software issue”.
It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
