Nine Premier League players are among the shortlist of players nominated for this year’s Golden Boy award, which recognizes the most impressive players under the age of 21.
Lamin Yamal was the recipient of the award in 2024 after establishing himself in the Barcelona team and helping Spain lift the European Championship.
The teenager went on to enjoy a treble-winning season with the Catalan club last season and finished runner-up at the last Ballon d’Or, losing out to Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele.
This year sees the likes of England’s Miles Lewis-Ski entering the list of 20 players, along with his Arsenal teammate Ethan Noenary.
Chelsea’s Esteban and Jurel Hatto are also on the list, with places also available for Manchester United’s Ney Euro, Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly and Tottenham’s Archie Gray and Lucas Bergwall.
Jobe Bellingham, Jude’s younger brother, and Liverpool’s Giovanni Leone are among the five wildcards.
But while the Premier League is well represented in the Golden Boy of the Year list, another PSG star, Desiree Doe, looks to be the favorite to take home the trophy.
Dow played a key role in the club’s trophy-laden previous season, scoring twice in the final as the Parisians beat Inter Milan 5-0 to lift the Champions League for the first time.
