US jury finds French bank BNP Paribas liable for damages for enabling atrocities in Sudan




A New York jury this Friday found BNP Paribas responsible for more than $20 million in damages to three Sudanese refugees, now American citizens, who argued that the French bank helped support the regime of former strongman Omar al-Bashir during its brutal campaigns by Sudanese soldiers and the Janjaweed militia against unarmed civilians.
